I-8 get 9/10 in PSM!

CO-OP is in split screen only game is 12 hours despite taking up 23 GB of BD Can it bear the weight of all these heavy expectations? The answer is a reasonably solid " yes." But before I go into detail, let me tell you what Resistance isn' t. It' s not the greatest first-person shooter ever devised, nor is it a revolutionary leap forward in technology. Its graphics won' t make your brain explode, nor will they make you think you' re living in the fourth dimension. One of the most impressive things about Resistance is the very topmost level design. I' m talking about basic pacing, balance, sound design--that sort of thing. These elements all mesh to draw you inexorably into the game. All of the settings in Resistance--11 separate areas divided into about 30 chapters--exhibit impressive variety; you move from tightly enclosed spaces to wide-open fields of battle and back again. And while the levels are actually fairly linear, clever design tricks make them feel extremely open. With a generous amount of variety in setting and tone, Resistance does a nice job of keeping things moving; the 12 or so hours it took me to finish the game on medium difficulty seemed to fly by. And those 12 hours are just the beginning; there are significant reasons to play again. And that leads me to Resistance' s most significant flaw. While the alternate-history backstory provides exceptionally fertile ground for both the setting and the story, the story itself ends up feeling surprisingly thin. nother complaint is that, while the game features an extensive competitive online component (for details, see the Unfriendly Competition sidebar on the left]), co-op play is splitscreen only. The designers insist that co-op is more fun in person, but for those of us who do most of our multiplayer gaming online, the lack of online co-op feels like a significant omission.

Great! It' s just too bad no one' s going to be playing. This will be my first pick when I finally get the PS3 though.

40 person online is bad ass I' m definatley getting it. I just hope it doesn' t lag like a mother. I always gotta give props to halo but Bungie has said that halo 3 as of now is only doing max 16 people which is some weak ass shit. Hopefully they change it by the time it comes out. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/743/743189p1.aspx Otherwise Resistance could be a real contendor in the FPS genre to knock halo of the title of #1. I guess we won' t know until there both out so we will see.

PS3 games that are online have no excuse for lag since if there is online support the game devs have to provide the servers.

What an asshole, all the servers will be provided by SONY, if the devs wanna conect their own servers to sell stuff they can do that aswell, something they cant do on xbox live

MS prefers to keep games on their servers because it provides a better experience (less lag and such). That' s why people complain about constant glitches and slowdowns on EA servers. Please don' t call other people assholes if you can' t even get your facts straight.

Anyone else besides EA??? can u provide proof of that I take it that you haven' t played Battlefield 2 or any EA game online for that matter, its common knowledge, something you lack. I' m still waiting for you to prove what an asshole I am and show me a link that shows Sony has servers available for third party developers. Theres a reason why the Sony network is free.

Resistance IS using Sony' s servers but it' s not using a unified buddylist which is strange. My guess is that it' s all very complicated and messy. 40 player online matches will lag no matter what anybody says, and for a game that fast it should seriously affect the experience. And the disc size is 16GB, not 23. LINK Also Quez, PSM???

Anyone else besides EA??? can u provide proof of that Its commonly known, EA titles on the first box werent live enabled at first because they didnt want MS to host the servers. The cool thing about PC games is player hosted servers, that rocks!

Sweden was never involved in ww2. Actually we were but we are so lame at fighting, so we let those nazis march right through our country and export iron so the nazis could make more weapon. But hey, we are " neutral" like always. Anyways back on topic. Why is there two names of this game? I-8 and Resistance? Isn' t Resistance: Fall of Man the correct one? I thought the game was called I-8 only at 2005 E3. Edit: Spelling
