Windows Media Player 11 - Oct 31, 2006 06:29
The final version is ready. I downloaded it and I noticed a noticable improvement in sound quality over WMP 10 (I have an X-Fi card). The downside is that it supports DRM, which is unavoidable for MS and anyone else.

I don' t like WMP, I use winamp.
You should make sure you have SRS and and virtual surround sound and all of that dumb stuff turned off. And then turn on your 24 bit crystalizer and tweak that since you have an X-Fi.

I' ve been spoiled by the 24-Bit Crystalizer. Whenever I heard mp3' s being played normally I can barely stand it. Its just sounds so good.

Argh can' t stand Winamp, like a disease that ruins your system' s performance. Of course I stopped using it like 2 years ago so can' t attest to it doing that now-a-days.

Well I run winamp and typicaly have 0% of my CPU being used and it uses less than 6 mb of memory. Not exactly a performance hit for my machine.

If you want a performance hit you can use iTunes, which can' t even render a mouse cursor while playing a video. And randomly desides to index a song every time you play it pointlessly monching your hard drive, memory and cpu cycles. That also along with updates you have to download every week which do nothing but waste bandwidth.

THANK YOU. ***THIS*** is why I detest Itunes, iPod and generally everything Apfelsaft related.

I never cared about virtualizers but after trying G-Force...wow. You guys need to try the free version. I spend hours everyday staring at the screen listening to music with this thing. Probably the best virtualizer you can find.

The 360' s is garbage compared to this. It' s not 3d but it doesn' t have to be, there is so much variety. It' s impossible to predict what it will look like 20 seconds later, this thing is constantly surprising me. When I watch it I' m afraid to look away and miss anything. It' s that cool, it' s like 50 virtualizers stringed into one.

This is actually the first one I download but its such a difference. It' s actually updated with more samples...someone here besides me has to try this thing. I' m considering buying the full version I like it so much.

I' d be much happier with the 360 virtualizer if it was G-Force instead.
