Post Your Computer Setup - Apr 19, 2007 00:12
My setup for the past few months. Only thing missing is the fact that I spend most of my time in bed with my laptop instead. [Smile]

Indeed!

I took the picture before thinking about making a thread. It was originally for my site and I figured since there' s not a thread on here that has something like it I posted it.

What site?
EDIT: Oh you mean the one you have a link to in your profile?
You got the picture in the video area " Videos coming soon" ...

Um... What better way to show me " working" to make those videos than to show me with my computer setup... Duh... Seriously.

Why Eddie? You can' t tell how powerful a computer is by just looking at it sitting there. Or do you want to dust it first and add a bunch of lame lights? I hate colored lights in/on computers.

Belive me dude, If you saw mine, you' d know. I' ll post the next time I get around to screwing with my digi-cam.

I dislike lights in PC' s anyway. I like mine to be rather subdued. A good airbrush to the case never hurt though.

Currently still on my Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop! 1.6 ghz CPU, 2 gigs of RAM (I think).

What kind of kills me a little is that I had finally upgraded and gotten a Duo Core Dell laptop around 2 months ago, and a few week afterwards it was stolen from my job THANKS to the glorious security in the building! So I' m back to my dying Inspiron 8600, grrrr!

I' d rather have the little eraser nubs on the 90' s laptops. Still not as good as a mouse, but it served the purpose.

Yes it is! I sure as hell am not gonna use the one-button mouse that came with my Mac. And since OS X supports 2+ button mice (and scroll wheels) natively I had to have a cheap mouse. Apple does make a " two button" mouse with a really nice scrollwheel that I use at work (can scroll any direction), but you must lift your index finger to right click, which sucks ass.

No, I wasn' t in the reflection. But I figured that those who look at Japanese porn would feel more at home with mosaic censor blocks placed around randomly.

My camera died after took this so i' ll take another tomorrow night that doesn' t cut half of my desk off...

...

I couple of things to note:

  • Yes that is a 5:4 monitor. I' ve had it forever and haven' t bought a widescreen monitor because i very very rarely use this PC. Most of my work is done at work, and when i' m home i have a 19" widescreen laptop and a 13.3" MacBook that i can use wirelessly.

  • No i don' t have surround sound in this room. There is a CD player further left of the printer an even that doesn' t have surround sound. Like i said, i almost never use this room.

  • The DVD which you can barely see towards the bottom left corner is Nacho Libre.

  • I' ve never turned that desk lamp on. There' s a red leather seat left of where i' m standing and behind it a reading lamp, basically a larger version of the desk lamp, and i' ve never turned that on either.

  • I just noticed that the centre-right panel on my mirror is smudged. That' s going to piss me off until i clean it but i can' t be bothered right now.

Meh, i should have bought a Mac...

I' ve included my laptop and MacBook as they are what i primarily use. This is my office at home but like i said it rarely gets used because it' s far more comfortable to sit with my laptop. Oh the joys of wireless broadband ;P

On the left there' s my red leather chair and unused reading lamp. Then my lame CD player, ..again something that has almost never been used, ...and then 2 printers, 1 laser printer and 1 ink-jet printer. The ink-jet hasn' t even been plugged in. Ever.

    Yup.

I actually bought my girlfriend one for Christmas as she only used my (18 months old) Vaio for web access, word processing and email, and i figured a MacBook would be ideal.

    She hated it...

So i returned it and got her a smaller version of my laptop instead, ...and now, after installing Vista on her machine (it' s not going near mine ), she doesn' t like the changes and wants XP back...

    But yeah, MacBooks are sweet!

Here is my OTHER computer setup (in a different room). This is actually two different pictures combined into one, so everything looks a little " warped" :

The computer (on the floor) is a self-built PC running the world-famous " Windows XP" OS with bug fix (I mean service pack) #4. I do NOT use it for games. Computers are for doing my bidding, not playing games. The computer is usually regulated to supplying my Xbox with tons of downloaded video content to watch on my HDTV upstairs. As you can see, this is also my " old school" game console room. I play these more than my new school systems simply because they are more entertaining/fun. Each and every system is hooked up via component except the NES and the PS1 and all run in true 240p progressive scan (heh).

I agree.. We (the U.S.) got ripped off big time on that end! I never understood why the changed the design when bringing it to the U.S. Didn' t it cost more to alter the design?
