He' ll die. Sad, but true. It' s a shame that it has to happen, but if governments were going to let their actions be dictated to them by anyone holding a hostage, the world would be worse off than it is now. Hopefully they can rescue the guy.

I hate seeing this. It' s becoming too commonplace for beheading videos, but a solution to this is complicated. Bush has stated that he will not negotiate with terrorists, but if I was the POW in custody of a terrorist I would sure love it if he broke his word.

Meaning what? It doesn' t seem popular to me among american and british soldiers to make tapes to show the world with masks on and make demands they probably know will not be met and then kill a person in cold blood. But yes, I' m sure Iraq gives their POWs the royal treatment...manicures and cable tv.
And when someone' s head is cut off that is in fact a beheading...not quite sure what you are insinuating there.

Well I guess that' s what makes this America. Someone can actually feel sympathy for these bastards and speak out about it freely

For some reason, the korean who was beheaded bothered me the most. Seeing him plead for his life was all I needed to stop watching.

It is kinda shocking of how many people are circulating the videos
I myself refuse to watch it. It is really something I don' t need to see

One thing I will have to say about the publicity is that a single Allied Forces casualty garners plenty of attention, his name is broadcast across the globe and his family members and community are shown grieving for him.

...what about all the ' collateral damage' ?

Guess they don' t sell newspapers now do they.

I' ve only watched the Nicholas Berg video, and I' m probably not going to watch anymore. To me it was important to watch at least one of these videos, to fully understand the nature of our enemies. As for the little discussion going on in here...I' m pretty much in full agreement with fictionised.

well, they' re not gonna kill the Muslim hostage, he' s Muslim, every Muslim captured was released, plus news channels say captors released him in a safe spot, dont know if it' s true though. Muslims have always had the " no killing Muslims" rules, hope this guy lives though

Folks I don' t see any sign of anybody heading towards North Korea any time soon, that country do have nuclear capabilities and a dictator worse than Saddam.

On the topic of terrorists and how the forces are coping with them it is worth pointing out how much better the English forces are dealing with them due to their prior experience in Northern Ireland. This should have been taken into consideration before heading over.

North Korea won' t be touched because they have nuclear capabilites. In much the same way it will be interesting to see what happens with Syria. I don' t expect to see the action spreading into any more countries in the next few years.

hey, remember the Cold War? Soviets had major nukes and US still stared them down, US will find some way of handling N.K., it gets second most attention in Bush' s presses.

hey, good news, Hassoun is currently in the US embassy in Lebanon, he' s safe but loss some weight. Now investigators are trying to find out if the whole thing was a hoax, if this guy' s convicted of desserting, he might face death penalty (betrayal). Lol... i was right when i said this guy wouldn' t be beheaded. There' s one thing i' m wondering, how did the terrorists get 500 miles to Lebanon without getting caught?
