Explain your username and avatar. - May 02, 2006 05:08
The title really says it all. I am just curious about what your usernames and avatars are from.

I got my username by combining Mario and Link' s names together(strange as it may sound), and my avatar is none other than good old Doopliss from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door!

My username has been my gaming name for many years, i was originally named King Idiot, but after a few years with that (and loads of infamy at lan parties) i got tired of it, and changed it to VX, after watching the rock, since the name is often taken in Forums or i need more than 2 letters, i added Chemical to it.

My avatar is the danger sign for bio hazards!

The name Ginjirou comes from a character in the awesome Sega Saturn game Guardian Heroes. He' s a ninja with green clothes. Image-Google his name if you want to see what he looks like.

My avatar is one of Kikizo' s. It' s Mitsurugi from Soul Calibur. My favourite SC character.
I' ve thought of making my own avatar but I haven' t taken the time to yet.

Well my name is S. Masse. So I dropped the ' e' to make " Mass" as in :A unified body of matter with no specific shape. Threw in a ' X' to stand for an unspecified variable.

I am an unknown entity for the most part I guess...

I normally go with the name Massacre20xx since again Mass is in there and the 20xx= year 2000-2099. So basically I wont ever have an outdated name within my lifetime.

As for the avatar...dunno I have a morbid sence of humor and a relativly dark personality. Not really horror or goth or anything just dark and morbid..ya know? Im really a cheerful person...

I think it comes from my living breathing wall that I tried killing once...

nekkid-monkey was my yahoo id first. i picked it after having an argument with a friend about evolution.

My theory: evolution = right
Darwin = wrong

The avatar is one of kikizo' s, but i picked that one for a reason. in the halo 2 instructions grunts are called unggoy...that' s tagalog(philippines) for monkey.

Username comes from some really cool guy in the real world who fights for justice, keeps peace and harmony, feeds starving children and is a big hit with the ladies.

Avatar is some dude who walks around telling people what to do during the making of certain Sega videogame. I doubt he' s ever typed a single digit of code in decades, though.

Rampage99 came about when I was really young. It wasn' t originally a username at all. I was like 8 and there was a really bad storm going on in town and the power got knocked out. So to keep my brother, sister and myself entertained my dad came up with a super hero story using us three. Lol, it was actually an awesome story. My character name was Ricky Rampage. Rampage stuck ever since. Later on I started using that as my save name on games and in sports games I always used the number 99. Evenetually I just put the two together.

The Avatar is just a pic of an aboslute baddass. Same Fisher is the man. Odly enough I look quite a bit like him...

Majikdra6on has nothing to do with canabis. I don' t " puff" on anything whatsoever, hell i don' t even smoke!

I guess i have to say i' m a dragon with magic powers. It' s not true, i actually wanted to change my name to NITROdR46oN, taking NITRO from the DS codename. The dra6on/dR46oN, part i actually shortened back to dragon after using dragoon (as in Panzer) for a few years.

Pah, who knows what i' m talking about...

Well dasher is just some reindeer' s name that goodness knows where I got it from...and 232...ok this is gonna sound weird but it' s the same backwards as it is forward and it has two even numbers on the ends with my favourite in the middle (...weird). The avatar looks very, very similar to this character that I drew a while back and when I joined and saw it I just had to have it as my avatar.

Loco means crazy in spanish,I took a lot of spanish class. Puyo is one of the bean thingies in the game Puyo Puyo which is one of my favorite games.
So I combined them to make LocoPuyo. Then I made a logo out of the L and the P. Then I made it the same colors as the old Kikizo K logo so it would match in the forums. Then the next day they changed to a new logo.

Chee Saw comes from the old kung fu movie The Kid With the Golden Arms. It has the same " actors" as The Five Deadly Venoms (a more well known movie, between the two). The bad guys were called the Chee Saw Gang, and they had four members: Golden arms, Silver Spear, Iron Robe, and Brass Head. Good stuff!!

My avatar is Jubei Kibagami from the Japanese anime, Ninja Scroll. I chose him because he just seemed like an average guy, but was a complete badass!!

uumai is the title of this story/character i had in mind to do a kinda comic of back in the day.

Logo NiGHTS, awesome game - he doesn' t appear to be in use on this forum, I b&w the background to bring NiGHTS as the focus.

Sig aswell (not that you really get to see it) " NiGHTS into Dreamcast" The game that should have been - Sega Fan, Loved to have seen nights on DC, and it' s a play on the name of the original.

This is off topic, sorry, but have you played Sonic Adventure for the DC? In the Casino you can play some pinball machines. When playing the Nights pinball machine you get to visit the old Nights world during some special section. That was beautiful. And the old music, aahh. Made me play my old Saturn again.

" What about me? What about Raven? Quoth the Raven, nevermore!"

Basically it' s part of a quote from one of my favourite wrestlers called Raven. I very cleverly stole the " What About" parts and stuck my name on the end. It' s written " whatabout_paul" because that’s the only way I could set up my e-mail address.

My picture is a cartoon picture of me I made one day in college. I' ve since trimmed it down a bit so may get onto posting a slightly modified version soon.

Eddie_the_Hated actually stems from a strange 3d sprite based chat thingy i was frequenting a few years back. it requred an actual full name to sign up, so instead of taking the time to think up a good ID. I just used my middle name Eddie. It' s actually Edward in full (which i' m not wholly fond of), but i still think eddie is way cooler than my real name.

So while i was on chatting with some friends from my Algebra class, this Noob comes up and starts bashing us, just for kicks, one thing led to another, and the entire forum was bashing the flip out of me with third grade insults. It didn' t really bug me much, because most of the people on the map we were on had the intellegence quotient of an artificially sedated chipmunk. but the rule on the chat was no flaming so the mod hopped on and lightning bolted the guy' s sorry arse into oblivion. (heh, i had forgotten they could do that). very gratifying.

and in the process the mod changed my name to Billy, to avoid more flaming. I hated the name Billy, cause it' s my first name' s nickname, so i had to go back and change it, this time i decided to put the_Hated, at the end, so people would know it was me.

And as for my avatar, Luigi is way underappreciated, and he needs to have his own 3d platformer, not just a tack on for mario.

I' d probably post a different one, but the site won' t let me post any pictures. Ah well, i still like this place way better than any other gamesite anyways.

actually, it wasn' t all that amazing. i wanted to see a true luigi platformer where you could run and jump and possibly fly and throw fireballs. luigi' s mansion was alright. but all it was, was luigi going through an old house, sucking up stuff, and calling out mario' s name like a homosexual with a stuttering problem.

M-m-m-m-m-a-a-a-a-a-a-r-r-r-r-i-i-i-i-o!!!

There had better be a good one for revolution, i' d even settle for one which combined him and mario in a 3d platformer, i' m not picky.

as long as they' re not piggy-backing eachother like Superstar Saga

Rampage99 - your story totally kicks ass -it' s just awesome

My nick comes mostly from my Hip-Hop,G Rap,etc music and style preference and it kind of grew on me since highschool (that and I did quite a lot of " some stupid shit" back in the days that made me known as a " rebel" of sorts).

Avatar is me in a Kung-Fu pose photoshopped to look like it' s in ancient times , but my new avatar that' s coming soon is all about having the same style of web appearance on 1up , kikizo and everywhere else.

vdig - It is a concatonation of my real name, first and last. Man, that is not really interesting... but I also go by the alias of Vertigo 1, a name taken from the Vertigo inducing 3D space series Descent (WHAT A GAME!), and VDigger.

An explanation of VDigger, or The Digger - I always tend to search non stop for things once I decide I need to find it. Furthermore, I sometimes associate said behavior to the antics of the hero Taizo from Dig Dug. Yes, I blow stuff up when I search for things. If I' m looking for something in a closet, the hall will be a mess in just a few minutes. On the net, I constantly dig around, looking for cool things to watch.

Finally, if ever I go online, I would name myself with an amalgamation of the aforementioned IDs. What is it? Won' t say until I register my gamertag, as soon as I get a 360. I' ll update when I get one.

Edit:
Oops, forgot to talk about the avatar. I am a fan of the more violent, unique shows than the average TV dribble. Watching a Bruce Lee lookalike, just buffer, blow people up by merely touching them, is quite interesting. Furthermore, Kenshiro just screams badass, especially in Shin Hokuto no Ken (New Fist of the North Star) and the Raoh Gaiden movie, which I want to watch, and from which I got the avatar. I am a fan of animation when done properly. Just don' t rant about pokemon or other kid type shows... unless it is a show I enjoyed as a kid. I seem to have fond memories of Samurai Pizza Cats.

Usually I like for people to guess what my names mean, but I can' t expect that from people in a forum, so here goes...

(Warning, this is a long, but necessary, explanation)

My (real) name begins with the letter E, and my favorite letter is E. I did a presentation on the history of the letter last year and found that it first originated in the Phoenician alphabet, one of the first written languages in the West, as the character " He." I' ll put a picture of it here.

]

I have a better picture of just the character " He," but for some reason, it just generates an error when I try to embed pictures. Click on it and you can see He in the top row, third from the left.

When I gave the presentation, my audience was impressed by the history I was able to give on just one letter. I, also, liked the name He for its history, its connection to my favorite letter, and its potential as a syntax error if I used it in a game (You were killed by He).

My avatar is a placeholder until I can get an avatar of He up. I' ve sent it through e-mail, and am waiting now. The one I have now is pretty good, though. That is the best picture of Joe I' ve ever seen.

EDIT: My avatar of He is up, but now that I look at it, it seems rather simplistic when compared to the intricate ones you all have up. Oh, well...

I got mine ages ago when I was joking around with a friend. As a useless fact, he mentioned that apparently your star wars name is the first three or four letters of your surname and the car you drive. At the time my friend' s was Buck Skoda and mine ended up being Chou Polo...kinda like Hans Solo heh. But I' m thinking of getting a Honda next, which doesn' t work quite as well! I' d settle for Chou Zonda though..

Avatar was the only one noone was using at the time, and it kinda had a nice look to it. I wish you could just link a picture hosted elsewhere for your avatar like other forums though, instead of having to mail it.. I usually use an animated gif of a Gundam Seed mech (the one with the death scythe) in chopping action!

[The story of how I got my name will be told by Die Hounderdoggen' s inner pirate]

Yarr, the tale behind me name be a tale o' boredom, Mountain Dew, and mistaken identity... It all started back when I were no more than 13 years old. Me brother had lately taken ter callin' me " Homeslice" ... God I hated that name, I hated it almost as much as I fears that John Goodman will one day suck down enough grog that he' ll get it inter his head to roll around and engulf everythin' that don' t be nailed down like some sort o' demonic Katamri. So one day, I tells me brother that I' ll not be goin' by the name Homeslice no longer. He' d been suckin' down Mountain Dew all that mornin' so he had plenty o' ways ter annoy me further, and he' d just gotten out of a German class, so I became Die Hounderdoggen... And I been that way ever since...

Helluva story aint it?

My user name Bishonen comes from the Japanese language and generally refers to any unusually attractive male, as depicted often in manga, anime and video games ....the ' girly guy' that most ordinary guys love to hate...

...being naturally androgynous, the term has been used to describe myself, which i decided would be a suitable handle....

...i do wonder now though, weather if that was a good idea.... ...because of the fact that, whilst Bishonen is generally considered to be a fangirl' s aesthetic, it does have cultural ties in japan to homosexuality, which, being honest, i find rather insulting....

...whilst i' m not homophobic, i do get really angry sometimes about how gays (weather asian or western) always seem to claim any masculine ideal as being their own..... ...just like nintendo fanboys, their big mouths belie their insignificancy...

...my avatar is of Street Fighter II' s Vega.. ..the infamous narcissistic-psychopathic Spanish ninja...

Well, the name Alecrein is actually pretty original. At the age of 12 I was walking out of my house spouting off random words when the name " A-lee-kre-in" came out, it sounded so much like a name I held onto it and created the spelling behind it. Hell it is so original that if you type it into Google everything that comes up is me.

Alecrein as well is a villain in the book I have been writing for 6 years now, just imagine a " stereotypical" cloaked figure which looks like a balrog (demon of some sort) when without the cloak...I created a whole crapload around the character, I got the first two chapters of the book up on my forums [link=www.alecrein.com/stories/index.aspx]so if you want to read it.[/link]

The avatar will be up soon, it will be a balrog that looks alot like Alecrein' s design.

All a matter of opinion, I think phonetically it sounds more like a name. However I can see it as a name for a medicine.

Note that the first 3 films don' t have " Chucky" in their titles. They are called " Childs Play" 1, 2 and 3.

The original film was banned (worldwide?) in the UK because of 2 young boys who kidnapped and killed a small child in the 90' s. Childs Play was cited as being partially responsible as they' d viewed it at home.

Personally i blame the parents. How else would two 10 year olds manage to get hold of and watch and 18 rated film?

Majik, I think was Child' s Play 3 which was banned, as it was the one out at the time. It was also completely rubbish. The first one was good, Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky are hilarious.

My gamer tag was made to post on my friends bands forums - they are metal, and I would post " Industrial rooolz" and mention NIN, Ministry, Throbbing Gristle etc. I thought they would work out straight away that it was me (as they know my love of 23), but it actually took them nearly 3 weeks.

I can' t load my own Avatar from work, but I' m always happy with MC. I wish he was a Blue Spartan model though
