GRFS... - Feb 18, 2010 11:45
...doesn't quite roll of the tongue like GRAW... but meh, who cares - at least we're getting another Ghost Recon game.

Following last weeks teaser, CVG are reporting that all shall be revealed in March's issue of Xbox World 360 - LINK

Yay!

Right?

I've always found GR games to be terrible.

Agreed.  I bought GRAW when I purchased my Xbox 360 and I was like "WTF is this shit?"

I have always thought they were okay.  I played them on my friend's xboxes but never thought they were good enough to buy myself.

Ubisoft hasn't made a good game since Rayman 2 on the Dreamcast.  They've outlived their usefulness.

Can we blame the logo change a while after that game for a decline? ;)

Speaking of Ubisoft, I've been meaning to get back to Far Cry 2 for a while. Anybody still playing?

Far Cry 2 blows.

Future Soldier however will be fuck awesome. It's in the right teams hands. If it was Ubisoft Montreal i'd be more concerned because their output tends to be hit and miss, but the past 2 Ghost Recon games have been fantastic both offline and on. Hopefully the beta will gain the game a decent amount of attention.

Hmmmm

I really liked the first Ghost Recon, which as a FPS game on the PC.

I'm not particularly fond of the Jack Baur approach ubisoft have given all the Clancy games.

It doesnt feel as real as the first Rainbow and Ghost Recon games with a mission based structure.

I'd like a return to the other type of games, different missions in different parts of the world.

Though id definetly buy GRFS if it seems decent.

I adored GRAW2 online.

...but it's not Conviction, so I care not. At least for now. I'm worried that they've gone and fucked that up too though. Have you seen how quickly Fisher moves? I feel like we're gonna see a lot of Assassin's Creed parallels, despite them binning the first iteration for just that reason.

I'm off to a Conviction event on Wednesday, Eddie. Anything you want me to push them on in particular? It does seem more Assassin's Creedy than Splinters of yore.

ask them why they absolutely have to fuck something up when it already works, Chaos theory was amazing

I'm quite ready to be bowled over by Conviction. On paper, the mark and execute feature sounds like a substitute for being able to aim worth a damn, but trailers suggest that it's actually a neat little crowd control implement that feeds into the Arkham-Asylum-ish "each room is a sandbox" concept quite engagingly. You can earmark a few foes for insta-death, then get hands-on with the remainder. I also rather enjoy the projected HUD/storytelling element.
