Yo, I've snuck LOL Runner into one of our round-ups:

AOL wants Flytrap to move even further away from "trad" gaming, so giving it a whole blog post would be overkill, I'm afraid.

Thanks!  I really just did LOL Runner for the lulz, now I've been working on some serious games now.  I've also been drooling at the Unreal Engine 3 Development Kit which has been released free to indie developers.  I might have to do something with that.

No worries man, sorry it took a while. Looking forward to seeing what you can do with UE3!

What is the business model like for these Indie games?  Is it just a way to get experience and recognition?  Or does MS give the developers a percentage of the sticker price?

It's a percentage. One of the shitbags who made one of the "massage" indie "games" made 60K for 4 hours of work. Link

Yeah you get 70% which is really good.  There's hundreds of games on there though, with several new ones coming out daily, and the majority sell less than a thousand copies.  It isn't a get rich quick thing some people think it is, but it's great for getting some experience and just getting your game out there.
