I'm reeaaaaasonably sure a cow would prefer to keep its head if it had the option, however quick or painless the removal process. Also, swot up on what happens to the average "MacDonalds brand" slaughter-beast before it finally arrives on your plate in the form of a double cheeseburger. Death is the merciful part.

I've turned into a right old preachy bastard of late, haven't I?

Very few things want to die, even things that should die.

I find that the more an animal suffers, the better it tastes!

I'm pretty sure companies like McDonald's only take the worst quality beef, the stuff the restaurants don't want and supermarkets are overstocked on.  Some cuts of beef are $40-$60/pound, there is no way they are using quality cuts on $1 burgers (plus, they taste like shit, so it's obvious the meat is shit).  So stop hating on McDonald's for taking the scraps.

Cow's love pain, they've evolved to be masochists.  When they're jabbed with the cattle prod, can't you hear the ecstacy in their moo?  At night when everyone is asleep they hold orgies of B&SM sessions in the barn.

Therefore hamburgers are ethical.
