Bioshock Movie Shelved... For Now - Apr 26, 2009 04:32
Variety Reports

According to the studio, it's just in extended pre-pro to facilitiate the cleaning-up of some budget concerns they're having. Apparently it stands at around 160 million dollars, so they're looking to film outside of the US (...Not like there's too many critical filming locations in real life you'd need for a movie like this).

Most importantly though, Gore Verbinski's still attached to the project.

Any videogame turned movie that actually has a chance of selling well= shelved.

Seriously, movies like this and Halo would sell like crazy just because of the fan base alone. Meanwhile, Bloodrayne 14....

Apparently Splinter Cell's been on the backburner for quite some time now too. It's a crying shame on one hand, but on the other, I can't imagine anybody but George Clooney playing Sam Fisher, and the odds of that....

The voice would be spot on, but the last George Clooney film I saw was O Brother Where Art Thou.  His character in that with his constantly confused expression, as a US government super-spy shooting terrorists and wearing bright green goggles would indeed be awesome.

Watch him in Burn After Reading.

I still don't get why people hated that movie.

I liked the movie, and I really cant recall a movie where George Clooney didnt perform well. And we all know he's like a fine wine, sexier and better with age
