Help me choose a Halloween Costume - Oct 03, 2008 10:21
I'm going to two Halloween parties, one of the 31st and one on the 1st and i need a costume.

I'm torn between two different ones...

The Joker:

..and a werewolf costume...

Now, i'd prefer to go as The Joker, but is it really a Halloween costume?

And are any of you guys going to Halloween parties?

I'll be going to at least two, yeah.

Dude... if you're going to go as the joker, learn to do prosthetic scars (or have someone do them for you), and ditch the jacket. Everyone and their mother will be doing something Dark Knight related this halloween, and personally speaking, I thought the joker looked like much more of a badass with the rolled up sleeves, and the vest. It's more distinct, if nothing else.

If I can find a suitable outfit in time, I'll be going as Sarah Palin. With the odds of me finding a red dress like that being what they are, my fallback plan is for my brother and I to dress as Jake and Elwood from the blues brothers.

Went as Angus Young a few years back, when my hair was shoulder-length, that was pretty slick.

You're going to run into a hundred Jokers.  Fuck that, try something original.   The Werewolf is ok but you can do better.  The best thing to do is get a really fucked-up mask and gloves and find some seperate clothes to wear with it.

The joker is a no-go. I thought about buying the exact replica of the costume which is like two or three hundred dollars, but I'd rather not run into a shit load of people who just spent like 20 on a crappy costume from Walmart. I've never really seen anyone who had a werewolf costume that looked half as good as that one, so I kinda like it. Also, with the right amount of money, you could have a badass vampire outfit, but once again, if you're going for original it's probably a no.

I always go to at least one Halloween party.  Last year I went as Jason, just bought a boiler suit and hockey mask, then destroyed them a little.  Put black eyemakeup round my eyes so they looked really freaky through the mask, and I bought a Freddy Krueger glove which i had hanginng out from slash marks it had left in the boiler suit :)

Two years ago I got a new suit, so I went out as a zombie in the one I wasn't going to wear any more.  Just dressed up like office joe covered in blood and made a really good scar across the top of my head with fake skin and fake blood.  It was pretty cool.  Very Dawn of the Dead look with blue/grey face paint and dark eyes.

I don't know what I'll be doing this year but I don't like spending a fortune on outfits so I usually buy one or two things and try to make something cool.  I got an amazing werewolf mask which covers my whole head for £6 a few years ago but I've worn it out a couple of times so I won't be doing that again for some time.

There's at least 5 people I know who plan on dressing up as the Joker for some party they're going to.

I'll just go as myself. My face is scary enough.

I can see there being a lot of Jokers roaming the streets in the States... but in the UK? Really?

I'm sure there's just as many UK sellouts as there are US sellouts.

We should have a Kikizo Halloween costume competition.  I'm making mine!  I'll get pics up as soon as it's done.

We dont have a tradition for Halloween here in denmark. Though íts slowly making its way here. I just carved my first pumpkin yesterday, iv never been at a Halloween party.

Joker looks old. You should go for something unique, like a full Iron Man metal suit.

There will indeed be lots of Jokers, but will there be a lot of joker henchmen? The crew doing the bank heist. Or Joker's own henchmen gear.

I would imagine places like Walmart will be selling masks similar to them(off-brand of course) to target people who want something "original" from the Dark Knight.

Depress them more like.

One year I went as a cross-section of the youth of America...

...people actually bought the BS. I was just too lazy to buy a damned costume.

At my closest Walmart, they usually have their cashiers dress up as something like a target/Kmart employee. It's really awkward if you forget what day it is.
