Shenmue I & II Recieving Wii Port - Says GameReactor - May 17, 2008 00:42
I' ve given up any real hope of Shenmue seeing the light of day, that way I can be pleasantly surprised if it actually does see release, but I know quite a few of you need visual aid when you masturbate, so here you are.

In English:
" Shenmue is back!"
" Sega has rereleased classics like Nights,Bass Fishing and House of the Dead lately. Now it' s said that Shenmue is next. But don' t think that it' s about a new game, instead, they' re bringing back the two original Shenmue games with extra Wiimote-minigames which will be released for the Wii."

Ok, now I get it. Every generation of game consoles from here to eternity will get shenmue 1&2 but 3 will never get released. Why? Because Sega loves to piss off their fans.

Seriously, WTF SEGA?? If the game is dead, let it friggin' die. Stop re-releasing the first 2/3 of a game.

If true, Maybe SEGA are just trying educate or even find a good market for the game.

I can' t... not very well at least. I got the gist of the article, because Swede is very similar to German, and decided to pursue it. I found the translation on a forum somewhere.

I' ll Doubt it very much, Personally a Shenmue needs to be on a system that will give the devs as much horse power as possible.

Extra Wiimote minigames = WIN! I hope they use/require the WiiFit board as well. Also the Mario Kart steering wheel. ALL AT THE SAME TIME. And it should ONLY be minigames. Screw the story. Minigames are awesome. I wish all games were minigames.

I only want Shenmue 3 on PS3 and the entire series 1 2 and 3 all on 1 disk,
the disk should be a 200 gb one so the graphics and sound would be unbelieveable.
Changing disks to me would ruin the flow of the game,
if the next Xbox 2 can hold 200gb plus disks then i want it on that.
If the rumoured Sega machine comes out then i want it on that,
it should come out in 2012 when these disks are being mass produced.
Hideo Kojima said the 52 gb disk was not enough, So Shenmue 3 needs more,
imagine the screens in 5 years from now, the PS3 can do 48 bit colour no current screen can even do this.
There' s this new Sony 27 inch Oled that does 1 million over 1 contrast has 8 bit more colour that' s half of an entire plasma' s colour as extra, and it' s much more brighter. Much quicker response time, this comes out around 1 year 7 months,
then around 3 years later i think there will be screens with full 48 bit colour that' s double the 27 inch oled' s colour capacity.
I' m sure there will also be 120 frames per second screens as at the launch of the PS3 they said the PS3 can do 120 fps.
Also the next Xbox will have the latest whatever HDMI specification probably wireless, just as an example the HDMI 1.2 spec compared to 1.3, 1.3 improved the quickness of the picture resulting in a slighty cleaner picture and eliminated colour banding.
So yeah i want Shenmue on these 3 or 2 and not the Wii that can' t even do HD, the Wii is cool but it is no place for Shenmue even if it' s just the first 2.
I guess if they make 1 and 2 on the Wii because of the success of the Wii that' s good but only if it' s on the others too. If it' s not i hope it later gets put entirely into Shenmue 3, that should not go to the current 360 and Wii because of the low power of the Wii and low disk space on both.
They would cut out too much stuff and i want everyting including the Saturn version, artwork, etc. Thank goodness they canceled Shenmue Online this would of just ruined the name,
oh and complete lossless Dolby True HD sound.

No it couldn' t. Those do not yet exist.

Why not just ship the game on a hard drive and attach it to the PS3 via USB?

What is preferred in video games is subjective and Shenmue
was a commercial flop.

So I'm giving an experienced subjective view.

My household comprises of an avid PC FPS gamer, PSP gamer
and me an XBOX 360 and Dreamcast owner.

Some people automatically think old stuff is crap without
proper criticism.

I would like to say of Shenmue that it the best game I have
ever played because I don't spend time killing, shooting or
hitting the opponents to death, a scenario which forms
99.9% of all rpgs.

Shenmue has original gameplay concepts that work and
have been copied if somewhat belatedly.  The game had
dialogue with ever character, diversity of gameplay
including full arcade games and pub games.  The story
was backed by an original music score and very good
art design.  The effect was like a novel that you were
excited to discover the next chapter because ultimately
you as player cared for the main character Ryo Hazuki.

I'm still waiting for a game as good as Shenmue to
be released on the 360, but until then I will
be enjoying Shenmue II again on my Dreamcast
this Christmas.

Retrogamer, youre a dumbass. Dialogue with every character? You seriously think Shenmue was the first game to do that?

Shenmue, as has been said before, was nothing more than walking around talking to people, trying to find info about your father, with minigames strewn about. If thats your definition of a captivating story you should stop watching Anime and start reading a few novels.

No one gives 2-shits about shenmue except Sega fanboys. And bad news, Sega died after JSRF and Panzer Dragoon Orta.
I dont want to celebrate, I want to sell you hate.

As far as I knew, yes, when it came to voiced dialogue (which I think he meant). Every NPC, and there were a lot of them, had his/her own voice, background and quite a few lines in Shenmue which I hadn't seen before. And not just around five different voices then for all the NPC's (see Oblivion). Which other games did this before? Or after? I have no idea.
