RE: Whats on your shelf? - May 05, 2008 02:00
I' m the opposite - I tend to sell most of my games that I haven' t played in a while. I' ve never kept more than 1 console and the games I' m currently playing. Still got:

GTAIV
Pro Evo 6
Devil May Cry 4
Condemned 2

but I want to get rid of the bottom two now I' ve finished them.

Its different with PC games, since you dont need a disc to play most of them, especially if you' ve bought and downloaded them over the net. Even if I' ve sold a disc version, I tend to keep the game on my HDD anyway and use a crack if I ever wanted to play it again, but that rarely happens.

Games I' ve kept on my PC + disc in many cases:

GTR
GTR2
GT Legends
rFactor
netKar Pro
Richard Burns Rally
RACE: WTCC
Nascar Racing 2002
FEAR
FEAR: Extraction Point
Quake IV
Doom 3
Gears of War
COD 4
STALKER
HL2 + CSS
HL2: Orange Box
Hitman series
Kane and Lynch
Trackmania series
Darwinia
Company of Heroes
Supreme Commander
The White Chamber
Vietcong
Brothers in Arms
Morrowind
Tron 2.0
System Shock 2
Deus Ex
Unreal Tournament ' 99 + mods
Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones
Far Cry
Fahrenheit
Prey
Star Wars: KOTOR
Sam & Max Episodes
probably more I' ve forgotten...

I have loads of game on my shelf but i do limit my space to certain special titles worth leaving out.

A lot of my older games, ive threw away most of their cases, simply to save space in my apartment.

For Exampe, Due to almost 100% perfect Saturn Emulation (i do own an orignal saturn and all my games are orignals), ive recently taken out my collection of 67 Sega Saturn games and been browsing through them:

BTW, PDS is the shit!!

Currently playing:
Korg DS 10 (ds) /  Metal Slug 7 (ds)
Rhythm Heaven (ds) /  Fire Emblem (ds)
Super Stardust HD (psn) /  Virtua Fighter 5 (360)
FSX (P

Just take some photos Terry. Then we can just look at them all...if the wide angle is big enough.

It depends on which consoles you' re talking about though.. The least amount of games I currently own are for the Xbox, PlayStation 3, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis.

I have a decent amount for the Neo-Geo, Sega CD, GameCube, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PCEngine/Turbografx-16.

The most I have are for the Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Master System, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, and Sony PSP.

I trade my games in all of the time, mainly due to the fact that since I have a wife, 2 kids, car payment, and mortgage it doesn' t leave me with much money for games.

I currently still have:

360

GTA IV (of course)
COD 4
Halo 3
Assasins Creed
Gears of War
Bioshock (I am ashamed to say I have yet to finish)
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
NHL 08

PSP

God of War Chains of Olympus
Final Fantasy Tactics

I still have some of my older consoles, but like I said I sell or trade everything.

Oh, if you are wondering:

Wii

Metroid Prime
SMG (Ashamed again to say I haven' t even tried it yet.... wife' s hooked on it)
Wii Sports
Mario Party 8
Most wanted games:

Mass Effect
Assasins Creed
Crysis
Little Big Planet
Drakes Fortune
UTIII
Kane and Lynch
Heavy Rain
Alan Wake

I have a full shelf (actually shelves) as well. Do you guys really want pictures? Most of my games are older, dating back to the Sega Master System era. Don' t worry, I have a few newer games, too.

Well OK, but I will only link to the pictures as I have over 7MB worth of them and I don' t want to piss people off having them auto-load each time they click into the thread.

NOTE: These pictures are HUGE so you can read all of the titles. You will have to scroll horizontally on many of these pics. Don' t let your browser auto-shrink them.

I have many, many shelves. Click for pics:

Enjoy!

Holy shittsu, that' s an incredibly impressive collection! Seeing ' Castle of Illusion' on your shelf almost brings a tear to my eye. That had to be one of the most incredible Genesis experiences for me.. And Mystic Defender holds a special place in my heart. I remember seeing screen shots of Arnold Palmer' s Golf and being totally blown away back then.

On your Turbografx-16/PC Engine shelf I noticed there was no ORDYNE from Namcot, what the hell is up with that???

Excellent! Cause if any game deserves shelf space it' s Namcot' s Ordyne!

I remember remixing the stage 1 music from Namcot Ordyne a few years ago. Did I ever send that to you? Maybe I will buy a new bookcase and use it ONLY to store Ordyne.

Some of you guys have insane collections. I don' t even have room for that many. Where do you guys keep your necessities like clothes and drug paraphernalia?

I pretty much trade in any game that I have no intention of playing again. I don' t like playing old games and I don' t like to hold on to anything useless collecting dust. I can see the appeal of keeping them though.

My current stash:

PC:
Orange Box
Crysis
Bioshsock
UT3
BF 2142
Solar Empire
The Lord of the rings Battle for Middle Earth Anthology (sucks)
Day of Defeat Source
Guild Wars
X3 reunion
Kotor 2
Morrowind

360:
GTA4
COD4
Mass Effect
Halo 3

psp:
God of War
Warriors Orochi
FF Tactics

PS3:
GTA4
Motorstorm

Everything I have today I either don' t want to get rid of or they have no resale value. I' ll likely add 5-10 more to the list by the end of 2008. A lot of great games coming out this year.
