Great watch.. would have been interesting to see what would of happened if it launched with DVD instead of GDrom..

Or if they had money to actually launch their dvd add-on a while later. I believe that they also had plans to release a new Dreamcast version with dvd support. I' ve seen a picture of a prototype model before. They were close but couldn' t release it eventually due to financial problems. It would' ve been interesting to see how things turned out then.

It would have been impossible for DC to launch with DVD. Dreamcast development begain in 1997, the same year the DVD-R standard was finalized.

Sony had to struggle to launch PS2 with DVD, and they were part of the group that funded the format, imagine how hard it would have been for an " outsider" company to achieve the same thing in 1998.
