Metal Gear Solid 4 Release Date!!!!

Word from Destination PlayStation, a retailers-only conference for all things PlayStation related, is that Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the PlayStation 3 on June 12, 2008. According to sources there now, the release of Kojima Productions action-stealth game will arrive on a Thursday, oddly enough. Even more interesting is that we' re hearing word that Sony will be offering a hardware bundle that features MGS4, an 80GB PlayStation 3 and a DualShock 3 packed-in.

We' re checking with Konami for official word on the matter and will update with additional information soon.

I am so glad that I will have my PS3 by that time!!!!

If that release date is officially confirmed, then it would only arrive 9 days after NG2. Hot d@mn, that would be an explosive June!!!!

Hmm... the question is whether or not one game is reason enough to buy the PS3 at that point. I' ll probably wait for FFXIII to come out before I fork over the money. That way I' ll have a couple games I actually want to own for the console when I buy it.

Well it appears the game will be bundled with the PS3 and a Dual Shock 3 all for $499. Looks like I might pick one up.

Rampage, I am in the same position. I have waited this long to get a PS3 and I am glad I waited. There are a lot of games coming to the PS3 this year that are going to be kick ass, much the same as how it was for the 360 in 2007.

Well out of all of those games MGS4 and FFXIII are the only must haves imo. Killzone 2 really has to prove itself after the first piss poor game. Haze and Heavy Rain are heading to the 360 and I' ll get them for the 360 if I get them at all. Little Big Planet does look like fun but I can see it having a fairly short lifespan in terms of its entertainment value. Home... bleh... I could play Second Life for free but a virtual world with no goal doesn' t appeal to me anyway.

I had no idea Heavy Rain was coming to the 360. I took this game as a tech demo for the PS3 to show off what it is capable of.

They never announced it was an exclusive. Quantic Dream also stated Heavy Rain is the only title they are currently working on and went on to say that they are current developing for the PS3, 360 and PC. Put two and two together.

I guess I could be wrong though. Just read an article from last July I never read that says Sony snagged it. The game was originally in development for the 360 and PC as well. It was never meant to be an exclusive.

Omnikron 2 is in development. That will obviously be multi-platform.

Heavy Rain has only been announced for PS3 and that' s certainly the lead platform, but it could easily end up being multi-platform too...

...unless Sony end up being the publisher... and their website does list something called ' Confidential' (likely an as yet un-named game) that SCE are publishing. But that could simply be Heavy Rain.

Then again, ...nobody outside of the development team really knows what the game will be like. The tech demo' s were impressive but we have no idea as to how it will play.

I have faith, Farenhient was a great game, flawed but great.

Yes, similar to the Motorstorm bundle, the new MGS4 bundle features an 80GB PS3 with some PS2 backwards compatibility.

Summer courses are optional but since engineering students have more credits than other faculties here then its unofficially mandatory. So basically yeah going to school all year round.[:' (]
