Laberinto del fauno, El = Pan' s Labyrinth
Cidade de Deus = City of God
Der Untergang = The Downfall

For those living in English speaking countries...

EDIT: Hang on, what am I supposed to list? I don' t get it. Film that I may have missed, or films that I think you may have missed? Because i don' t know what I may have missed...

I want to buy Oldboy, I haven' t seen it but everyone says it' s cool. I' ve seen an action scene that kicked ass.

Doubt these are uncommon but I left out popular ones like Sin City, Kill Bill and Batman Begins. So naturally these are movies I believe a few of us might not have seen, and not my absolute favorite.

My list:

-The Departed
-Lord of War
-28 Days Later (I could be confused with Dawn of the Dead, watch them both)
-Collateral
-Blow
-Vanilla Sky (one of those movies that is 100 times better after seeing the ending)
-The Beach
-The Cell (a lot of people don' t like this one, it' s not a great movie but I think it' s worth watching if you want something different)
-Catch Me if You Can
-The Metador

Hopefully there' s something on there you haven' t seen yet.

Have you seen " The Big Lebowski" , " Office Space" ? Not 2000+ but...

Spirited Away

Anime fans drool over this movie for a reason. Miyazaki explores human motion in an absolutely uncanny way in the movie. Every little nuance that I' d never imagine someone incorporating into animation was incorporated. The art direction is stunning as well.

Lucky # Slevin

It was a pretty large movie, but it got shafted by the reviewing community as a whole. I really liked it.

Hotel Rwanda

Fantastic movie about the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. I walked in thinking it wouldn' t be my type of film (it wasn' t advertised for what it was), but I was pleasantly surprised.

Rise of a Footsoldier

A movie about football hooligan turned bouncer. I don' t know how widely released it was, but I' d never even heard of it in the US. It' s nice healthy no-punches-pulled, ax-in-back-of-head soccer violence at it' s best... I wish we had sports/gang violence like that in the US.

Across the Universe (I either lose masculinity points for naming this, or gain them by having the balls to name this, one or the other)

I wholeheartedly recommend this one as well. In fact, anything from Studio Ghibli up to today is very good. I personally recommend Princess Mononoke.

I am thinking, is just that I have to think of dates and such

Edit: here are some more

The Constant Gardener
Cache
Curse of the Golden Flower
Hard Candy
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
London
Match Point
Running Scared

i really liked match point , running scared is a good flick as well, constant gardner is a nice movie, the others i' ll check them out.

spirited away is a fantastic anime, the best may be, i prefer it over monoke although this one is great as well.

anybody here saw eternal sunshine ?? this is the best romantic movie i' ve ever seen, so deep, clever, and original, i nominated the script for an oscar and indeed 6 months later it won an oscar for best script. you absolutely need to see this even if you are a heartless bastard.

You guys named a lot that I was thinking of listing already, and a couple I' d forgotten about (Mass X, thanks for mentioning Identity. I' d completely forgotten about that one)

Off the top of my head:

MirrorMask
-interesting characters and GREAT visuals

Little Miss Sunshine
-worth watching for the dance scene at the end.

Meh, the dance scene was a little contrived for my tastes. The scene where the colorblind fighter pilot wannabe kid breaks his vow of silence, absolute cinematic genius.

little miss sunshine is a weird movie , the story isn' t great , nothing special just a ride on the bus very simple, but the characters and dialogue are really great, that' s what makes this movie memorable, the grand pa is a very likable character. i agree eddie , that was genius.

yesterday, i saw Danny the dog, nice movie.

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence

I thought this was one of the most disappointing sequels ever. It felt nothing like the original and the script was just a bunch of old quotes strung together. I' m a big fan of the first Ghost in the Shell but the second left a bad taste in my mouth.

I haven' t watched Innocence yet, as I buy my movies, and the American Innocence release is CRAP! For something with such a cult following, you' d think they' d release a nice version and a crap version, but no. And, AND, they f*cked up the subtitles! It only has subtitles for the hearing impaired! That' s whack!

Anyways...

The Descent (watch this one with a girl. She WILL jump in your lap!)
Sunshine (not what I expected)
Superbad
Grandma' s Boy (classic!)
and a movie that REALLY surprised me, Stardust. Very enjoyable flick, that one.

I' d definately agree with Chee on the Descent, I think it' s the best horror in years.

OldBoy
Ichi the Killer
Pan' s Labyrinth
Syriana
Nightwatch
Transformers (some of you, for some really weird reason, may not have seen it)
Mulholland drive
No Country for Old Men
Batman Begins
Chopper

I just though of some really good anime flicks:

Paprika
Perfect Blue
The Girl who Jumped through time

I saw them all recently and are all very enjoyable and you have to keep your eyes open to understand what' s going on sometimes.

WTF oh WTF was that Ichi the killer about, i thought it' ll be something classic like oldboy, coming from somebody who liked oldboy , but then it' s a very average movie, even if it got style into it, that doesn' t translate to a good movie... and nobody got for sure the ending, i didn' t even after reading some explanations, it sounds far stretched and bullcrap.
