PC To 360 Multiplayer for Halo Wars?? - Jan 31, 2008 03:36

My only question is if this would even be fair to the 360 owner of Halo Wars playing an RTS against the PC owner of Halo Wars?

If the PC player had to use a 360 pad...

But what PC player is going to say, " sure I will give up the awesome M+K, because it is such an unfair advantage over my console opponent" ? Not very many.

I just don' t think that any sort of crossplatform multiplayer between the 360 and PC is good, whether it is a FPS or an RTS. I am very sorry, but the M+K give a much bigger advantage in terms of speed and accuracy.

I saw that article yesterday.

Just a quick question for the more tech savvy members. Is it that difficult for devs to include PC to 360 mulitplayer, and how would it work?

I can' t tell you how it would be done. I' m no network specialist, but it can, and will be done in the future. Huxley being a prime example.

The question isn' t whether it could be done, but whether it should be done. M&K players as a generality have a serious advantage over most pad players.

I myself perform infinitely better with a pad, and there are others who do as well, but someone insanely good with M&K tends to have far better accuracy. It wouldn' t be a problem for the majority of those online, but once you reached higher levels, certain console gamers would reach a glass ceiling.

Definitely, some players are insanely good at getting headshots.

I like using both pad and M&K. It depends on the weapon, when using a sniper the M&K wins hands down for me.

It isn' t too hard to do. But with Xbox Live it could be a little bit more complicated, because you would only be able to play against xbox live people on xbox 360 if you had xbox live for PC. So they have to make another system for non-live online play over PC.
For a game like huxley, where everyone is connecting to a dedicated server no matter what it would be pretty easy though.
