Cant Surf on Kikizo - Jan 24, 2008 11:09
So i have noticed this problem a few days ago, I thought it was firefox or something but i discovered its was infact kikizo.. let me explain, after opening up kikizo for about 5min, I cant change tabs, I cant use the scrool wheel on my mouse [the sidebar still works].. its very slow and firefox itself becomes unresponsive... once you close kikizo everything goes back to normal. This also happens on IE.

Anybody else get this??

I am using Safari on my Mac and I haven' t had any troubles. Once when my connection was slow, all posts where blank, but that has been the only problem I' ve had with kikizo. Sometimes I get on from my aunt' s PC and no problems there either.

I have had intermittent problems with Kikizo all along. Currently there' s an ad for Pirates of the Burning Sea which chugs along and occasionally has crashed my Firefox. At other times I' ve had excessively slow load-in of pages, to the point where I have to view the main site through a proxy site. This happens on both my desktop and my laptop. Not sure what the deal is, but it definitely is specific to Kikizo.

Sad as it sounds, it' s probably just your PC not being able to render all the ads at the same time. I' ve noticed that advertising is becoming very bloated and intensive these days and if you' re just running integrated graphics or something similar, your PC will struggle.

There are ways to get around ads though using firefox/opera.

mine is having the same trouble! so its not just you! it helps briefly when deleting internet files and cookies.

my pc is a duel core 2 with 1,2gb ram so it should be able to run any site just fine. something is up with the site

Yeah, I' ve got a couple of decent rigs here which I use for 3D animation and video editing, so I don' t think it' s just about my machine getting bogged down... this is the only site that I experience these problems on.

The ads are regional so we' re not all seeing the same stuff onscreen.

I' ve never had any problems with the site proper, although there have been occasions when it just wouldn' t load at all. I' m running Firefox 3.0 beta at home and IE7 at work and everything' s fine.

Works in Iexplore 6, Opera, FF3 Beta and Safari for me. My FF2' s been down for a week or two, it consistently sucks 98-99% performance when I open it, so I haven' t been using it until I can figure out what' s up.

I think it' s because of these " Pirates of the Burning Sea" ads. We' re looking into it...

it is the burning sea ads as whenever they load up the whole browser gets chuggy

Stop using nub browsers and you wouldn' t have such problems.

Hey. Those who were getting this problem before, if you are based in the US you should still be seeing the campaign, but are you still getting the slowdown problem? Trying to work out if it has been fixed.
