Damn you Nintendo! - Nov 21, 2007 23:09
Why, a year after release, using many of the same components that Gamecube has used since 2001 - can you not manage to meet demand?

Wii is sold out everywhere, and none of the stores i' ve contacted so far expect any in before the new year.

I' ve called or visited:

HMV
Virgin Megastores
Game
Gamestation
CEX
Toys R Us
Currys Digital
Argos

And nobody has had any for a fortnight, and all they can offer is to take my name and add me to the end of already stupidly long lists. No thanks.

Why oh why didn' t you ramp up production and stockpile during the summer? Why didn' t i buy one when they were freely available?

If i want to play Galaxy i have to go to a friends house, but i want to play it in the nude, ...and he' d probably object

I don' t know if this is still current, but Nintendo were flying something in the region of 200,000 to 300,000 units some time this week as the container ship they use is too slow.

have you tried Tesco' s? That' s where I got the wife' s from.

Shortage of supply creates more demand. People want what they can' t get. Nintendo knows this. They could meet the demand easily if they wanted to. But by saying they can' t, they create headlines and forum thread and people talk about how amazingly popular the Wii is. Notice how there are never any software shortages (except when Nintendo pulled the same thing when Super Mario Bros. 3 originally came out).

If its hard to get a console then many people wont think carefully when they see one even if they didnt want it that much. Its like " i should get it before it sells out" .Also it will give an excuse for Nintendo for not lowering the price because theres high demand for the Wii.

Come to Germany. We still got plenty of ' em flying around! And btw. didn' t Nintendo say they were producing like 1,6 million units every month? How can there still be shortages if not artificial ones?

I saw tons of them just sitting unsold in stores like Target and Wal*Mart during August and September.

Same here. Sorta wish I bought one to sell for a higher price this christmas, but I really dislike the Wii, it just pisses me off that it costs $280 for such a low spec system with 2 good games in a year.

Ya should get a very good price especially now since they are in short supply, but you would be missing out on Mario Galaxy which is crazy.

We have 2 Wiis in my house(mine and my little brothers' ). My little brothers' have it. I played it for a while. Its great but not best game ever like the wii kiddies are saying. I would still rather play CoD4. And for reference, best game ever is Quake 3.

best game ever is Quake 3.

Everyone knows that E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial on the Atari 2600 is the best game ever.
