Team Fortress 2 Impressions - Oct 06, 2007 17:56
I just bought the Orange Box and is attending the TF2 beta. I havent played much yet, but what i have is super cool.

The models and surroundings are excellent, the unique cellshading is fun to look at.

The gameplay is fluent, the blood effects are nice, as are the limbs flying around.

Ill try and put up more as i get to play more!

Most FPS' s you' re only conserned about what you' re doing. In TF2, to play properly you' ll be heavilly invested in your whole team as well as the enemy team.

Everything about this game is exactly what I want it to be.

If you pre ordered the game on Steam you can play the Team Fortress 2 Beta. Orange box comes to retail next Tuesday for North Americans.

Playing some CTF with random team members, it gets apparent that you really need some teamplay to succeed in this.

One team had players content with just camping out in the intelligence room with engineers. It was virtually impossible to even look into the room without being cut or blown to pieces. I can imagine the only tactic is lobbing in grenades into the room without being in view.

I was on the opposit team, i tried doing the grenade lobbing myself, but it was more or less impossible as one person and without support from a medic or other offensive squad members.

Very enjoyable game, anyone know where steam stores screenshots?

Take down your last post Vx, it offends me by not having an exclamation point

Have you played as a pyro much, and do any classes seem unbalanced?

Some of the engineer turrets seem pretty over the top killing instantly on sight!

Iv played mostly as soldier, iv only played scout and grenadier beyond that! I' ll try the pyro soon i think, they rack up plenty of kills, but im just getting the hang of the rockets and pulling in some decent kill to death ratio.

Even if you break 2 legs from a crab it still runs!
What you gotta do is find its weak spot and do massive damage at it.

Just like UT and Q3, i cant see these games played on a console, the precision simply isnt there with controller, ofcourse there is auto aim, it just feels right on the pc. Also the requirements are forgiving and its half the price if you buy over steam!

Day of Defeat is a great Mp game, i like it way better than counter strike, which i never really got into. I played it in early days before it went over 1.0

Nothing like being a rifleman with only semiauto fire.

I' m really loving TF2 so far, I used to play TFC alll the time. Everything seems well balanced except for the turrets are a little overpower on third level and the pyro seems a little weak. They don' t really have anything for long range, just a shotgun which isn' t really long range, in TFC they had a rocket launcher so it was a little more even then.

If you pulled the Valve out of your ass you would realize how much better RO is.

I bought DOD:source, and when RO came out later, i didnt feel like paying for yet another WWII FPS MP mod.

Paying for one is enough! In any case as long as its a fun game!

DoD was better in the early versions it first came out, then they changed some stuff that lamed it up. RO has always pwnt face.

Ill just go play with Gmod and make funny pictures...

Anyhow I will end up getting the 360 version since I am getting sick of PC gaming as its like the sports cars world for geeks nowadays. I simply dont have the money to compete nor the time to install and optimize. Which is also why im selling my pc and looking into a basic internet browsing media box more then anything else.
