Games are meant to be played. To not do so is to deny them their function. You sir, participate in a counter-logical hobby.

I think in a way that' s what' s appealing about it. It' s difficult to find unopened games. The challenge is enjoyable in a way.

I think that most of use face the challenge of actually not opening it when we find them

I wonder if the pressure becomes too much to bear for some sealed game collectors, and it all ends in a furious binge of vintage gaming. Two days later they wake up dazed in a disheveled pile of torn cellophane.

So not something more interesting then sealed games, the stupid banner on the side of this site(AvP Requiem) does anyone think this game is going to be good and I wonder how much sony paid kikizo to put it up. This also brings me to the whole Advertisement that pops up every now and then for gears of war when I click on the forum link.

Yeah respond or not who cares.

Hehehehe.

If he wants to stay, that' s his deal. SealedCollector, you' re welcome to keep posting in this thread, but I' ve got to say that it' s pretty apparent you' ve lost your target audience with the topic at hand.

Might I suggest posting in some of the other threads? Maybe creating a new thread about something not sealed-game related?

Maybe we need to invent a console that can read the games in the unsealed boxes ;) or maybe a new kind of dvd case that goes into a slot in a console.

But i like dvds they are shinny!

Very few obejcts that people collect are made to be collectors items.
Stamps are made to pay for the delivery of a letter.
Bottle caps are made to keep liquid inside the bottle.
Coins are made to trade with items.
Clothes are made to wear.
Toys are made to play with.
Just as games are made to play.
But all of those items are popular items to collect, without ever being used for their intended purposes. People who collect things rarely have much in common with the people who use the stuff they are collecting. Collectors belong to a group of their own.
I used to collect all sorts of things, but eventually I almost got mad because of all the worthless crap I had everywhere. So I quit. No more collecting for me.

If you are interested in the concept of collecting you can look it up on wikipedia.

I' m interested in the psychology behind the urge to collect stuff. Is it just a regular hobby or is it something more. Humans have a natural instinct of collecting things for our survival but real collectors seem to have some other reasons. Perhaps, something is missing in their life?

I will be getting the Japan version of VF5 360 for no reason other than to keep its massively superior boxart mint and sealed.

Only VF has the power to cause me to behaviourally malfunction in this way.

That is a pretty sweet cover! Japan always gets the best ones, while the US gets the crappy ones. European ones are mostly superior to American ones a well. Though it would have to be something even bigger for me than VF to make me malfunction in such a way. Now, if we we' re talking about the new FFVII International 4-CD print that came with the launch of Advent Children in Japan, then I would definitely keep that in all of its plastic cover goodness

Trust me, there have been faaar worse.

Back when I first got here, before I knew jack shit about the industry, I started a thread about the possibility of Halo 3 gracing the PS3 with it' s presence.

And there are plenty worse on top of that.

...Not that I' m defending SealedCollector here. Even if nobody gives two shits, he' s got the right to post what he wants, but bumping a thread without adding any new content is daft.

I bought the GTA double pack and never opened GTA III. Does that make me a sealed game collector?

Man, I' ve collected every Ecco the Dolphin game I can get my hands on, and the Jaws game from a few years back. They just don' t have many seals in them. This is the most challenging and frustrating collection I' ve ever tried to accrue.

I'm a seed collector. I collect various tins of peas and beans. They usually stay in the cupboard until i am ready to cook them.

Sounds weird, not really it's just like sealed collecting but better.
Alright, i'm just fucking with you.

No. i don't collect anything.

I think owning something that you like is good enough and better when you open it and play it. If you like it that much you can buy a limited edition or something...whatever makes you happy.

Off the record, This is my first post after being away for some time and no more would i be playing nice.
Fuck the system.

Alright Ghost since you asked. Too bad i didn't want to spam this thread on sealed collectors.
I've been away for almost 3 mths, returned last week. Been on kikizo every 2 weeks to post some news .
I realised that after the incident with the **** (XenuChris) who came on kikizo to post their aggression on kikizo members, that people don't care of the terms and conditions shit. So why the fuck should I.
I usually stay focused and be logical about stuff. I try not to fuck up people on the forums and try to show them the error of their ways or mend mine. But so much for that.

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
