Not into FPS games atall but this has suprized me. Ive tried playing GOW COD2 and COD4 beta but their not that great. Ive been told by alot of people that Warhawk is the best for beginners and overall has the most depth to get out of it. Any one advise please?

Try Oblivion. Im sure it' ll be your favorite FPS after you play it. Fucking moron. Oh, and Zelda is a great FPS too.

Seriously though, if you dont like CoD, just quit life.

Thank you for the replies, i downloaded WH yesterday and it is a great as what owners say.

Not-so thank you for the cockyness. I used to play unreal in 3rd person view. WE all know apart from alittle FOV and bopping, FPS' s and 3rdPS are the same thing so keep the cockyness to yourselves' s as you sounding like you have things to prove?.

Immortaldanmx. Think i will even bother arguing with a sad individual who reeks hatred towards someone who has different taste than you?. Yes i read all your replies and it' s obvious your one sad individual. GROW UP U LOOSER.

FPS' s and 3rdPS are the same thing

not really, I can see where you are coming from but look at it like this, Resident evil 4 plays nothing like Unreal Tournament.

Warhawk is a great game and plays really good for a dual shock. Very responsive. More fun than alot out there too.

I used to play unreal

You got the right console then. A fully optimized 60fps, Unreal 3 with Full M&K support will be the new benchmark for Multiplayer Console FPS.

No. The demo was running at 60, but they' re locking it at 30 for the retail release...

“60 fps with UE3 is possible if Epic sets that as our goal. They chose not to do that with Gears of War because Epic wanted to deliver a cinematic high-action experience with high-end graphics. Mark thinks everyone can agree we achieved our goal. With UT3 their goal is an even higher level of action, an even higher level of visuals, and to achieve this with even more players/bots in the game. Our goal isn’t 60 fps because they would have to compromise on some of those things to achieve it in every situation. In the final game they’re going to lock frame rate at 30fps and you’ll be so happy playing the game, so thrilled with how amazingly it all comes together”

By the look of the Recent PC screens . I was wondering if a comparable 60fps PS3 version was possible.

Maybe not quite. Disappointing but Thanks for that anyway.

I dunno. I don' t think we' ll actually know for sure until the game is done because they' ve gone from 30 to 60 and back to 30.

I' d say 30 is more realistic, but it depends on how far the engine has come on the plaform and we know Sony has contracted Epic to make it work better. I' m still hoping it' s 60, but as of 2 weeks ago Rein said 30 so who knows...

I liked Warhawk, but didn' t wanna buy the retail as unless you can commit to an online game your gonna get slaughtered. And i don' t htink I could give it all that much time.

However it was quite a solid game, one of the better ps3 games, and certainly multiplayer games that i have played in a while (Although that isn' t many)

Hope you enjoy your purchase though.

What you think of it?

Myself... I love the way it feels like a ' console' game rather than just a PC game on a console..

Smooth transitions between foot and in warhawk..
Afterburner style Warhawk controls..
Characters controls are smooth..

Been playing this quite alot, surprisingly.

I love it. PS3' s online system leaves a lot to be desired but the game itself is brilliant. It' s easily the best online game for the console and although there are only like 5 proper maps, the different layouts make it less painful.

Hopefully they' ll add more content down the line too.

Looking at the big power ups for the Warhawks, the gameplay looks a little too simplistic for my tastes. To anyone who played the game, would you say that' s the case, or is there some hidden depth that you can only see when playing the game?

Not just depth, but skill and knowledge play a big part in being succesful in a warhawk. It by no means is a " get power ups and blow shit up" scenario. A lot of the weapons need to be used situationally and if used in specific areas can go from useless to devastating. In the beta, I was one of the few people who could effectively take out multiple ground targets without being shot down. Meanwhile, taking out opposing warhawks became not only a matter of getting the drop, but laying mines effectively, using flak to evade lock ons, and most importantly chasing them where you want them to go.

There is a lot more depth than it could appear from the video' s or quick gameplay demonstrations. For some, it is a simple shooter with planes, but for those that have played so many multiplayer FPS over the years, there is depth to be found, and tactics that can be put into use very effectively without destroying the balance of the game.

Just got my comp fixed so now I can post here more freely. Had to use the ps3 for internet for a while there.

Anyhow, I' m up for Warhawk this weekend, I have the next couple days off. I already played with Silent a bit earlier, sadly he was on the recieving end of my homing missile turret.

Had my best run today, 5 team wins in a row, as well as being round winner in 4 of them.

Yah, it wasn' t the best, it looks just fine, and works fine, it even is a bit nicer than firefox/exlporer because you can zoom so easily etc, the main problem is the longer load times and slower address entry. For people w/o a comp hooked up to their Theatre system it is handy I' m sure.

On the flip side, my 360 didn' t help me with my internet crisis at all, though it did offer plenty of games to take up my time. However, after weeks of being neglected because of my gaming on the 360, the ps3 has pulled it self back on top thanks to my Warhawk addiciton. I' m sure Halo 3 will settle the score though.

Ah I didnt know you killed me, the messages are a bit small to read and I dont bother anyway as there is so much going on the screen. We should set up a kikizo game something when enough people will play!

Nobody talks in this anymore, the beta was full of talkers but now nothing, I want to see if my headsets works god dammit!
