TV Cutting the Edges off - May 31, 2007 13:00
When I play the 360, the edges of the picture are cut off. Not just one side... the entire shebang on all sides. Its an old 2004 SDTV, so is this something that happens only to the old screens... or is there some options I need to adjust on the 360 or TV.

Thanks

Did you set the 360 for SD? Both the physical cord and in the settings in the menu.

Pretty much all TVs have overscan, some worse than others, obviously. When comparing your Xbox 350 image that is on your TV to images you see on teh interwebz, you' ll almost always see less on the sides as well as the top and bottom. Unless it is really bad and affecting gameplay (unreadable items/unseeable icons, etc) then I wouldn' t worry about it. You probably can adjust the overscan by going into your TV' s service menu. How to do this depends on the make and model of TV. Don' t try to eliminate all overscan, though... just make it bearable.

EDIT: yeah, make sure your 360 is set to 480i 4:3.

Can' t say I know anything that' d help the situation, short of buying a monitor that you can calibrate properly.
