Reattach the HD. Dropping HDs usually kills them or at least makes them partially inoperative.

Even if you didn' t drop it your 360 would have stopped working sooner or later. I bet your not as angry knowing it' s your fault though. I don' t know if that' s much consolation (enough with the puns already).

Change is inevitable. Except from a vending machine.

It' s not reading anything?

1) When your 360 fell, did the HDD get knocked out of the slot, or did it stay in?
2) Is the HDD port on the top of your 360 loose?
3) HDD loose as in the bottom dark grey part is separated from the chrome sided-grey topped case? or is it something more bizzare?
4) Have you tried someone elses HDD on it? Worst case scenario it' s a problem with your port, which would really blow. Best case scenario you have to buy a $40 Western-Digital 2.5 and format it for your 360 losing all of your data, which is the cheaper option to buying a $100 model.

Sorry dude.

No he does not. It' s actually quite simple to format an off the shelf HDD and place it in your 360 now. Just requires a bit of time and a bit of patience.

Heres the update:

1. Dropped the 360 and it wouldnt read the HD
2. Called MS support line and they told me to format it and it would work and i could get all my stuff back by recovering my GT
3. I formatted the HD and it works, but im having a hell of a time trying to get my password for my msn account to get my xbox live account because i dont remember the password i used.
4. Chances are i' ll just cancel my live account and make a new one and start all over

The HD was still in the 360. The back of the HD is loose, thats all, not like it shattered to pieces or anything. I tried my cousins HD and it worked.

Actually it wasnt hard at all, the non english speaking Indian lady just told me to go over to memory and press Y

Actually my 360 was replaced back in March and this one has been running great and surprisingly it still is. It was mostly my fault. What happened was i moved my 360 and my Ethernet cable was hanging in the open and my clumsy ass dog tripped over it and i grabbed the 360, but when i tried to untangle my dog it fell and i didnt catch it.

.... I actually wish it would have been my 360 to *** up instead of my HD because i cant remember my email to recover my live stuff, and i never used it so i dont really know much about it which is making it hard to get MSN to give me my password. Iv given them a credit card, my secret question word, and all sorts of crap and they' re still being bitches about it.

EDIT: And by the way, does anyone know if i can get my same GT if i cancel my old one?

Right now im waiting on 1 more email which will probably be here in around 3 hours or so, and if it doesnt help im just gonna cancel it. What really sucks is I just bought a 12 month subscription last month. Im sure i' ll be waisting my time, but im going to try to get them to refund my money, of course im sure i' ll have to request someone who speaks English and actually understands what im saying

I don' t post there really. I do frequent the Scene a lot and lurk the forums whenever I can!

I was introduced to the Scene a few years ago with my first Xbox and have been frequenting the site ever since. The homebrew scene is still going strong and I' m always on the look out for new stuff for both the Xbox and 360.

How many times has it broken? I think its odd that 2 of my 360s broke from the red rings, but i just dropped mine off of a 4 foot shelf and it works just fine, the only thing is it messed my faceplate up a little bit, but those can be purchased dirt cheap

My little brother had the ring o' death. Then he had my mom call the tech support or whatever and the warrenty already expired. So they were supposed to pay $130 to send it in for repairs, but they never sent the box. Then she called again a week later or so to get it sent in. But they didn' t send it so she had to call in another week later and finally they said they' ll repair it for free. And the box actually arrived a few days ago, now he just has to send it in.

Microsoft Tech Support' s Expenses Leger:

1 Gross of Terry Towels
1 Warehouse complete with tables
12 Lifetime Subscriptions to Penthouse
1 Industrial Pallet of Hand-Lotion

What do you think they do when you send your box in?!

I guess thats ok. When my first 360 broke i had to pay the $130 and then buy another warranty, but since i had a second 360 brake, they refunded my $130
