Although, saying that... I'm most of the way through the fuck awesome Crysis: Warhead... which is every bit as good as the first entry.

Please god... give us our new PCs... so that we, too, can enjoy games like Crysis Warhead. :(

I thought Torr was gonna get Duke. I'll tell him about the points, and pick some up myself, though they'll probably go towards something released in the last ten years ....Braid perhaps.

Oh, and as for Forever? It'll be alright, but it won't capture the magic of the original series. Expect a lot of note taken on how 3D realms is an aging developer who hasn't been able to keep up with the advances in the game industry.

I'ma ride with Loco on this one.  I thought Prey was awesome, and grossly under-appreciated.  It was a little short, and I felt they could've delved a little deeper into the gravity thing, but it's one of my favorite games on the 360.  Of course, this is only talking about the single player campaign, as I only played a wee bit of the multi-player.

If Prey had half the hype train any of those games did it would have been uber huge.  Duke Nukem 4 Ever will probably pwn too but everyone already made up their mind it won't live up to the hype 5 years ago.

Look, I played Prey. I enjoyed most of it, but there were no doubts that it was a flawed title, based on a solid, ten year old concept. It was incredibly easy, sometimes monotonous, the levels were really linear, which eliminated a lot of potential, and the multiplayer was pure garbage. All relics of a ten year old layout for games.

Games with decade-long, or even half-decade-long delays tend to not perform well. Despite many revisions (Prey, Too Human... Anything by Moleyneux) games of this nature still retain a lot of their predecessor's outdated framework. That's just the nature of the beast, and as cool an idea as Prey was, it suffered because of 3D Realms slipping deadlines.

There are exceptions to that rule. In this case, the timeline exception is Valve. The Half-Life and Team-Fortress series have been plagued with delays ...but Realms sure as hell aren't in the same league as them.
