Dude just hire a Pirate to sit it out in the room...not because I think a pirate can kick a ninjas ass or vice versa, I just want that ancient battle to finally be resolved.

As sneaky as a ninja is a pirate can take a beating and still fight on. Like that one fucker Blackbeard. In his final fight dude got stabbed straight thru several times, kept fighting, had his throat slit insanly deep, kept fighting, finally somone took a wack at the remaining neck and hacked his head off, apparently as the body fell the blade he was using hit someone on the way down. So goes that tale...arg...

If the ninja wins and makes off with the goods or if the pirate decides to plunder yee precious booty owell...at least we learned somthing.

Pirate or Ninja?

Mass Pirates are cool but a Ninja isn' t a Samurai, they don' t fight head on. They attack when their victims are sleeping camuflaged under the blanket of night. So if ever a Pirate and Ninja wanted to fight, The Pirate would never even find the Ninja until he' s wakes up with a sword lodged through his heart.

The reason I think Pirates are so cool is because he wouldn' t spend his last seconds left crying. He would put a few pints down and laugh at the Ninjas fashion sense.

Even under some unsual circomstance and a Pirate did fight a Ninja one-on-one under the light of the sun the Ninja would still win. The only reason a pirate can even take so much pain in a fight and keep going is because Pirates are always drunk and never feel anything. Being drunk is useful in a brawl with other drunk Pirates but against a trained assasin who always kills with one swift attack, being drunk is a dissadvantage. In a dual between a pirate and a Ninja whoever gets the first hit wins. The pirate is too slow and clumsy to hit a Ninja. The pirates head would be on the ground before he can get his sword out. Ninjas are trained Assasins, Pirates are just a bunch of low-life degenerates who steal just so they can bury their treasure.

Personally I' d go for the 7900 gt/x X 2

If you could have a 400 bhp Ferarri, or a modified ferarri with two 350bhp engines youd defo go for the second if you wanted power!

Plus! When you go to sell on in a couple years time - both cards will be selling for similar money, except you would have double the amount to sell on....?

Going to take some pics of my hardware today - although Im about to move house so its not ' bling' as it used to be! Still...!

Also when you disable the sli you could run up to four monitors... sounds a bit overkill, but if your into design or just are a hardcore multitasker - from a gearwhore point of view the idea of 4 bigass monitors in your bedroom will meka you feel like you are in the matrix...

Is it really smart to buy a graphics card that doesn' t support Dx 10 right now? Or do they support that?

the Geforce 8 series will support it, but the issue is that compatibility will have to exist for a good few years anyways, both with the games and the OS.

Plus the first cards out the door of any new generation get superceeded faster than you can shake a fist at.

I' d think it will be a good couple of years before we see DX10 ONLY games, As we are talking about a new shader model, and a more efficient handling environment the difference for users with a high end 7xxx series card will be almost unnoticable for a good while.

It really depends on when you next plan on buying a gfx card after this purchase?

My friend was just looking at that TV. It is only 8 ms response time which is good enough I guess. There really aren' t many TVs with faster response time yet.

1900xt 512 mb is what I just got. It is really the best high end card to get for price/performance right now. You can get it for under $300.

Unless you are a millionaire SLI/Crossfire/x2 cards aren' t worth the money at all right now. In case you didn' t know x2 is really just 2 cards in SLI in a different form. You don' t get enough boost in performance for it to be worth it.

I' m putting the 37" in my room and using it as a PC monitor as well :O

I' m trying to set everything in my room to have TV/PC/Consoles all hooked up to it yet be able to use them all comftorably.

I need like a small desk or some kind of specially designed sofa/chair so I can use a wireless keyboard and mouse from a good distance away, the monitor I have now is failry small and I can just sit right infront of it but this one is too big to do it.

After that I need to find a good spot to hang the TV to a wall that will work while Im using the mouse/keyboard on a chair or desk, and have a good enough viewing angle for when Im on my bed playing consoles or watching TV.

I' m keeping the 40" in the living room.

NEITHER! wait for the X1950XTX coming Sept 14th. It will be the most powerful DX9 card. It' s basically a 1900XTX except it' s ram is DDR4 and clocked much higher. A 1900XTX is clocked at 650/1550Mhz While a a 1950XTX is clocked at 650/2000Mhz. The 1950XTX is built on a lower fabrication proccess (80n) and combined with a beter heat sink and fan it should be much cooler and quieter then previous 1900s. I know that games like Oblivion and Black and White 2 that are shader intensive eat up memory bandwidth and thus the memory clock becomes a bottleneck. So by increasing the memory clock like this I think the 1900s will see a pretty good boost with many of the most advanced games.

If you want real benchmarks, the NDA is officially lifted today August 23rd so expect performance numbers soon enough. I' ll probably post them here if no one else does. Also with the new driver update ATI cards have caught up to Nvidia with Open GL games which show higher fps in games that Nvidia had an unusual lead on them. ATI is also releasing at the same time a 1900XT with 256mb of ram instead of 516mb, I' m possitive these will give the 7900GTs a swift kick in the nuts. I expect these new cards to have HDCP support.

If for some reason you don' t like Ati, and want one of your choice I suggest you consider the 7950GX2 since it performs better then 7900gt sli and has twice the ram. Also the 7950GX2 are HDCP compliant while the 7900gts are not. If you ever want to watch HD content from BR or HD-DVDs you need a HDCP videocard and monitor as well as the content obviously. Any of you buying a videocard should make sure its HDCP compliant.

I' m not an ATI fanboy i actually have a 7600gt (upgrading to DX10). I' m considering upgrading to a 1950XTX myself but I want to wait for the Nvidia G80 (DX10) thats coming out Sept/Oct and see how it handles DX9 games first.

Excellent article on 1950xtx, all in all it looks like it can hold its own against a 7950GX2 for a fraction of the cost. Crossfire 1950xtx destroys Quad 7950GX2.

I have a 7900GTX and it' s fine... I run pretty much every game at highest possible settings with a smooth framerate.

It' s good to see ATI is fixing the open GL issue, it was pretty dissapointing to see lower end nvidia cards surpass higher end ones in open GL games, my next card will be a DX10 ATI probably.

Anyway I think Im gonna return the 1080p LCD... supposedly the response time is 8ms but sometimes it looks like shit when theres alot of motion going on... thats what I get for going off brand... it looks like like a 16-24ms reponse time to me.

480i games on HDTV look like shit, 480i is like 240p, and when your TV' s native rez is 720p it has to blow up the image almost 3 times to make it fit, which make it look like shit. 480p games dont look that bad though, the image would only get blown up like 30% or so.

Anyway, I was looking at the paper and saw a 1080P 37" LCD HDTV for sale at Fry' s Electronics for only $1200, I may get it, that is the cheapest I' ve ever seen a 1080p TV and it says the offer ends August 1... as in today.

lmao, you don' t even know what you have.

btw 480p and 480i are the same resolution (640x480) so they would both get " blown up" the same amount. nubcake. The TV does not downscale it to 240p then upscale it to 720p. 480i is not the same thing as 240p either.

I suppose it is a rather normal post compared to his others though. He just blabs about things he knows nothing about.

First of all, as I suggested countless times take reading comprehension classes, I said 480i is like 240p, not 480i equals 240p.

480i on a screen that cant display interlace is equivalent in quality to a blown up 240p image, its not that hard to understand.
