That' s what they get for not securing any good games for the recent period.
I guess people are waiting for Mario and Metroid... and Wii Fit.
Is Metroid big in Japan btw? Retro Studios is an american studio so... maybe the japanese hates Metroid because of that?

The boost in sales was because of Mario Party 8. Actually it should be back to normal now.

I think in this case it would be more of the general dislike of FPS in Japan, rather than it being from an American studio. Any time the whole idea of Japanese folks being anti-American comes up, I have to wonder why the iPod is so popular over there if that' s the case. I think there' s just a very particular set of tastes over there that few American companies are attuned to.

If it sales dropped while the Wii actually had some AAA titles that would be something to worry about. But having it sales drop 46% or so when i doesn' t have any decent exclusives & still maintaining its sales lead over its competitors isn' t that bad when you think about it. Besides, I thought that 60k sold in Japan was the average monthly Wii sales anyway so its pretty much leveling out more then dropping.

When I was at the local mall earlier I saw a kid walking around with a Wii in an EB games bag at the department store. It' s a shame to know he will only have 2 decent games to play on it, 1 being a GC game as well. With only another 2 coming by the end of the year.
