Eurogamer calls SMG an embarrement - Nov 05, 2007 17:02

Super Mario Galaxy is an embarrassment. It' s an embarrassment for platform games. It' s an embarrassment for adventure games. It' s an embarrassment for Nintendo and an embarrassment for the Wii

This is how harshly they start their review, read the full version here

Hehe, I assumed that the opening wasn' t meant the way it initially sounded just by reading that. I wonder though what they mean with it being an embarrassment for Nintendo and Wii if they themselves made it? Maybe because it' s so much better than other stuff on the console?

Nice review by the way.

Heh no, I just happened to start finding that moustached squeaky plumber very very irritating after he started speaking! High pitched outbursts like " Itsa meee Maaario" send chills through my spine.

But this game just feels right, the controls the levels etc.

The only thing about it which dulls your enjoyment is the memory of all the mediocre games you' ve had to play in the meantime.

That was a good one^

I told my youngest brother (he' s 9) that if he raises enough money at Christmas I' ll pay half for a Wii. Wii isn' t something I would want to buy for myself but I wouldn' t mind sharing one to play games like this and SSBB.

Heh, funnily enough, Ive always felt the same. I hated Mario with a passion, remember at school having arguments with Mario fans (or Super NES Owners). that Sonic the Hedgehog was much cooler than Mario and Mario was for Babies. Then i backtracked to Play Mario 3 and realized how good the game was.

still hate Mario as a character though.

Sega Mega Drive All the way!!!!!!!!

Time goes so quick...

Same here. I didn' t like Mario and preferred Sonic. Well, I still do actually, purely as characters then. But later on I decided to put old feuds aside ( :P) and test the Super Mario games which are of course great.

LOL nice subject title

When i read all the things the didn' t like about the game i was surprised they still gave it a 10/10, but maybe the pros really outshone the cons, so i' m happy.

The way they implemented gravity is amazing I think. When he jumped between two objects but was drawn to one eventually. Kind of neat. I also like the fact that it seems to be so diverse when it comes to areas and gameplay.

It looks awesome. I like the rim-lighting technique they' ve used.
