Alan Wake has taken a "detour" - Aug 18, 2008 21:51
Hope you enjoy watching the tornado demo some more... looks like it'll be a while yet.

Remedy CFO Mika Reini says development of the anticipatedAlan Wake hasn't gone exactly as planned, but it is still indevelopment.
"We're still here and working hard on getting Alan Wake for you to enjoy," Reini stated on the game's official forums.
"Sure, we've been in development for a long time and if everythinghad gone perfectly smoothly there probably would be a game out for youguys to play already. But designing a completely new game can be hard, and sometimes you need to take a detour to find the best route forward."
Remedy, developer of the Max Payne series, originally announced the psychological thriller Alan Wake in 2005.
Microsoft is publishing the title on PC and Xbox 360.

Wasn't this one of the first games announced for the 360?  I remember watching a trailer for the game before any other 360 trailers.  It was nothing but camera flybys of a guy standing on a pier.  I thought to myself "That looks like some hard-hitting intense game play!  SIGN ME UP!".  I pre-ordered 9 copies of the game in full a year before the 360 was even released.

I thought it was announced at the first E3 after the 360 released.

No, it was definitely announced before.  Nobody had shown us "HD graphics" yet, but as always Alan Wake was the first.
